The yEFIS 5th General Assembly took place online on November 10th. It was the perfect opportunity to hear about past and future activities of yEFIS. We heard from the coordinators of the different working groups and the representatives of the 16 young national societies that are closely working with yEFIS. We are looking for new members to join our task force. We have open positions for coordinators and active members in our working groups. We are also looking to expand our activities to tackle different issues that we all face as young researchers. With the start of the new academic year, maybe some of us are wondering about the start of a new, non-academic life. For immunology PhDs, the career possibilities are endless, but the market feels saturated so it pays to be as prepared as possible. Many of you joined us as we talked to professionals who have taken their PhDs into 5 very different career paths!

The yEFIS 2nd Symposium, entitled "Conquering early career challenges as young immunologists," took place on September 1st, 2024, in Dublin. It was a satellite meeting of the European Congress of Immunology (ECI) 2024, which was held in the following days. The yEFIS Symposium dealt with topics such as mental health, leadership from any level, or diverse career pathways.

The yEFIS 1st symposium was the first meeting organized by and for early-career immunologists working in Europe. It was a great opportunity for more than 180 young immunologists to finally meet and network.
