International Day of Immunology 2026

EFIS and IUIS are thrilled to announce this year's theme: “Regulatory T Cells: Guardians of Immune Balance“.

We are working together to promote the benefits of immunology research during the International Day of Immunology (DoI) taking place every year on April 29.

On 29 April 2026, the International Day of Immunology will shine a spotlight on Regulatory T Cells (Tregs), the immune system’s gatekeepers of tolerance and balance. These specialized cells help prevent autoimmunity, limit chronic inflammation, and maintain harmony across immune responses. Without them, the system turns on itself.

This year’s campaign explores how Tregs preserve immune stability in complex environments - from the gut to the brain - and how understanding their role is reshaping our approach to cancer, infection, and autoimmune disease.

Join IUIS and EFIS in raising global awareness of Tregs and their critical role in immune health through this coordinated, worldwide campaign.
